President’s Column

I look forward to my monthly meetings because of the different theme for each month.  Last month’s meeting being the month of hearts, each one of us wore red and it liven up the room with different shades of red worn by everyone.

We had our own version of the fire side chat last February 13 at the residence of Tita  Tere.  PP Linda Caragos gave us the history of the Rotary and the different projects the Anns had way back 15 years ago.  It showed how active and cooperative the Anns were to their Rotarians which up to now is being done.  PP Vicky Blanco also gave a talk about the role of the Rotary Anns, and Director Terry Dael gave us her impressions as a new Rotary Ann.  All these topics were interesting and PP Nanang Paras suggested that we have this again during one of our GMMs.

While we were having the fire side chat, PP Ching, Josy, and Treasurer elect Jessica Elio were busy preparing the venue for our Valentine’s party.  To say that the party was a success is an understatement.  I would like to acknowledge the donation of the following for our party.  We had 3 lechons for that evening courtesy of PP Manny and PP Josy, PP Chito and Director Juvy, PP John Mark and Ching, PP Luigi, and Pres. Manny.  The salad and lengua and our beautiful game prizes were courtesy of Tita Tere.  Also some of the prizes were from PP Josy.  The balloons, roses, crown, and cape were from Rtn. Ben and Ann Jessica. I had some chocolate cupcakes made with little hearts on it for dessert.

Director Alvin Benasa was the emcee for the night and I must say he did a good job. PP Ching prepared exciting and enjoyable games for the couples. Finally, PP John and Ching has passed on the crown and scepter to PP Carlo and Ann Monet as king and queen of the night.  For their prizes, VP Janet gave them an overnight certificate at Pryce Plaza, a massage certificate at Thai Massage from Director Ferdie, and a certificate for dinner for 2 at VIP Hotel courtesy of Aileen San Juan.

The affair would not be complete without the singing from the Rotarians and the dancing from the Anns with DI Ron Ron.  We all had a wonderful and enjoyable time. 

I would like to say thank you to the Valentine Fellowship Committee headed by PP Josy and Ching with Director Juvy, Ann Jessica and Ben who helped in making the affair a success.  Thank you too to all who attended the Valentine’s party.
